Submit Your Problem

Please view the Problem Criteria to determine whether your problem is eligible for the Hacking for Defense process.
See Examples of Good and Bad Problems .
To apply you will need to complete the online application and submit a one page Project Proposal. Note that the proposals are briefs, and should not exceed one page in length. Make sure you include the following information (for full details, see the Problem Criteria section): Problem Title, Background- 4 to 5 sentences providing a general description of the problem to be solved. Why is it important?, Challenge- One sentence description of the challenge, Boundaries- Used to define a box for students to operate in. Provide bullet comments that: Describe technical thresholds (but do not write requirements!), Environmental Conditions, Technologies that might be relevant, Other clarifying information. Do not exceed one page.
